It's #BandcampFriday ! check out my stuff, if you like. Or don't! It's cool either way, but you might be missing out on my particular unique style of rock adjacent music which might* infinitely enrich your life and ears! I'll write a bit about some of my songs/albums in the replies to this.

I am an obscure internet musician. I make everything myself. I play various different types of gutiars, push the buttons on an Alesis SR18 drum machine, and occasionally utilise devices that have keyboards. I produce it with Reaper, although my very old stuff was done on Audacity. I make all the pictures too.

This track is my latest release. It's pretty heavy. Kinda #metal. I don't know if I'd call it industrial exactly, but I threw in some synths to the chorus and I like how that came out. I think I was trying to channel a bit of System of a Down when I wrote this, although I'm not sure that comes through. Some chuggy riffs and I go a bit silly with a pitch shifter pedal toward the end!

This one's a fast 3 chord #punk song that breaks into a slower stompy #rock number for the second half. the first 3 minutes might be the fastest thing I've done, perhaps. There's some bile in the lyrics, for sure.

https://dace.bandcamp.com/track/trust-in-yourself-4

This one's about.... misplaced self-confidence? I guess. It's another comparatively abrasive #punk / #garagerock guitar rock song that ends with a soupy paranoid #psychedelic #soundscape type ambient thing. I wrote this one ages ago, but never knew what to do with it. I felt it never fit in any album I wanted to put it in.

This is one of my favoutire things I've ever written. I love italian #Giallo films, so I wrote my own twisted sordid murder mystery story as a sort of bouncy, #folk rock pop song! Although there's a bit of #garage type crunch in the chorus!
(also unlike it's inspiration, it takes place entirely from the killer's perspective. I hope any Giallo purists can forgive me!)

Fun fact, I actually recorded it for #fedivision2024 earlier this year!

In the Here and Now was actually one of the first songs I ever wrote that I was happy with, back in like 2009 I think. I finally re-recorded it this year with a crunchy, driving Motorhead inspired #Rock / #metal sound. Some dark, surreal imagery in the lyrics and one of my favourite guitar solos midway. Seriously, I'm very proud of that noodling. It's a heavy one.

So, I like albums to be more than the sum of their parts. I like the songs in an album to work like the chords in a song- it has a flow and a shape to it. This is real short- only about 15 mins but it's a journey across a varied #psychedelic #soundscape of sonic texture. It's the most #synth heavy thing I've done. There are two proper 'songs' with lyrics, otherwise it's instrumentals and short ambient pieces that function like connective tissue.

This one's a straight up soft rock, folky bouncy pop-ish ballad! Very light and melodic, I enjoy this one quite a lot. Definitely some of the most whimsical lyrics I've done, but strangely enough it's based on a true story.

This one's another of my more #metal tracks, I was definitely in an 80s thrash mood when I came up with the riffs for this. Heavy!
I actually did a music video for this, cobbled together from public domain footage that I found on the indispensable archive.org

This one is like a sci-fi #horror type story about the world being overrun by monsters, as the protagonist- the titular lone survivor- slowly loses their own humanity. Some fast #rock / #metal riffs, interspersed with some slower atmospheric bits. A bit #goth

Okay, I'd also just finished reading I Am Legend when I wrote this, so it's heavily inspired/ripping it off to some extent!
I particularly loved doing the artwork for this one!

https://dace.bandcamp.com/album/secret-messages

This is an album I recorded in 2022, but with some tracks I'd written much earlier. It's a #psychedelic, reverb-laden #prog #soundscape with some very loose and odd song structures within. It's not exactly a concept album, but there's thematic throughlines. My fave tracks are Taking it Apart- the most conventional and catchy #rock song on here, and 'The Life and Death of Someone Forgotten' - which is a sad song. But sometimes, a sad song is nice!

Lastly, and well... kinda leastly, It's Dark Outside is an album of my oldest music that I still feel is good enough to keep on the internet. I recorded it in 2012/2013, and I wasn't in a very good place at the time. It reflects that! It's pretty rough around the edges, but I like it anyway. It's quite #PostPunk to the extent of almost being my attempt at a Bauhaus/Sisters of Mercy impression.
