You have $10k. What’s the most fun to drive used car with a manual transmission you can buy for that money?
I was going to add a poll that had “I was going to say MX-5 / Miata” as a labor saving effort for those of you inclined to suggest that, but mastodon won’t let me create a poll with just one option.
I should have saved my 350z in a barn somewhere for the last 10 years.
@shac Seriously such a fun drive, but going up hills in SF with that manual transmission got pretty old.
@shac Fiat X1/9, Honda Del Sol, some total beater 80s Camaro/Trans Am/Firebird?

@alexr @shac CR-X Si (Del Sol was the CR-X III in some countries). CR-Z may be that cheap now. GT86/FT86/BRZ That cheap now? Hyundai Veloster maybe.

Can't touch an S2000 for that cheap any more I think. Maybe you can find an old Nissan Z?

Companies just have abandoned fun cars. People decided a big car with a big trunk was more fun. Thinking you're outdoorsy is apparently more joy then spirited driving for most people.

@shac A slightly older, but well-maintained hot hatch? A Golf?
@shac e82 BMW 135i M-Sport
@craigc Generally over budget except for very high mileage. Not sure I would trust an N54 engine after 100k miles.
@shac a well maintained split window VW bus? </joke>
@shac 10k is a bit tough. I loved my M240i it was amazing. But it’s more like 2x that.
@shac one of the Toyburu twins
@nahir Would be nice but expensive for that budget
