Buncombe County Government taking volunteers to do health/wellness checks on lower-risk households, and *THIS* tidbit from their briefing this morning:

"...we're assisting with locating loved ones from outside the community... we have narrowed down list to 150, people who are elderly... medical needs..

because gas is an issue, and because this is Asheville, we have a bike brigade going out to knock on doors of people who might need help..."

@ai6yr What does "gas is an issue" mean? Leaks? Inability to deliver propane?
I haven't heard anything yet about pipelines in the flood areas.
@Nazani No gasoline at gas stations
@ai6yr Ah. There may be a lack of roads safe to drive on, but people will need it for generators.
@Nazani There is not any gasoline available, and no resupply yet.
@Nazani : If there's no power, the pumps don't work?
@cliffco58 For pipelines? I suspect the pumping stations are not in these little mountain towns, best to consult a pipeline network map.
