As is a Stadler built new U-Bahn for Berlin - for the narrow profile lines. This is built super solidly, and is more roomy than existing designs. Impressive design. #Innotrans
There’s an Alstom Coradia Max EMU. Mix of single and double deck carriages. Inside it feels cramped - feels like they’re trying to cram in too many seats. #Innotrans

This is just delusion. Macedonia has 7 operational trains, TOTAL, I was told in June. 3 multiple units, 4 freight locomotives. The problem is NOT operations first and foremost, but operations and maintenance. #Innotrans

Martijn Gilbert, CEO, Lumo falls into the trap of being an English native speaker. He doesn’t structure his words to make it easy for non native speakers to understand. Even I’m struggling. #innotrans
I’m a bit disappointed by Italo here. Their presence has transformed high speed rail in Italy, their service genuinely good. But their CEO comes across as a whiner (who also looks like a younger Berlusconi) #innotrans

Magnus@jon 2022 I just had one day (I came from and went back to Münster the same day, though) and it was too little. This year I’m coming from Braunschweig but nevertheless still only have one day and also some compulsory activity with my university group.

What's the issue with them? Signalling? Can have other STMs retrofitted if need be.
@apicultor his mentality I think? They’ve not got enough of them to justify retrofitting other systems I think.
@jon Sure, start small then add features as you succeed, but if he wants to compete then he's going to need to invest, be it upfront or later.

Although the worst thing about the Eurostar is the bit that no operator could really do anything about; I.e. the border checks and the ridiculous airport style screening.
