So my spouse planted way too many hot pepper plants. And they've done really well. So I went looking for recipes I could make to use up tomatoes & habanero peppers. So I found a recipe for spicy tomato jam.

Using ONE hot pepper for 5 lbs of tomatoes. LOL.

1 pepper down, several hundred to go!

OMG this jam is INCREDIBLE. It'll be so good on a grilled cheese!

My modifications: one habanero, whole, simmered with the jam instead of red pepper flakes, and a pinch of cardamom instead of cloves.

@LJ If it’s still on the internet, would you like a recipe for habanero oil?
@gannet sure! Though it will be for my spouse. I'm not the heat fan that he is!

@LJ Spouse has made this a couple of times, and I can add a couple of drops to food and be able to enjoy it. (I am not a pepper head.)

I recommend saving the instructions to a hard drive or something; I fully expect this website to disappear without warning. (It’s come close a time or two already.)

@gannet thank you! I saved it as a pdf.

If you have a source for local fruit, peach and habanero jam is maybe the best thing that humankind has ever invented

My source for local fruit is outside my door! But the #$@! squirrels ate all the peaches from our trees this year!! I may have some leftover in the freezer, though. I'll definitely try that.
