LinkedIn just opted everyone in for training their AI. Link to turn it off here: https://www.linkedin.com/mypreferences/d/settings/data-for-ai-improvement Toggle it to off unless you like anything you say being stolen.

LinkedIn
@catbailey oh no, they're gonna scrape all of the zero things I've ever posted on LinkedIn and use it to train their AI? Bless their hearts.
@catbailey Not just their AI but Affiliates AI also

We haven't found the page you're looking for.

@catbailey Couldn't find this for my account. Maybe it's not active everywhere yet, or maybe it's because I'm in France, I don't know.

But thanks for the info, I'm gonna keep an eye on this :)

@catbailey @cory I get this error when trying to open that link:

Hmm, this page doesn't exist
Sorry, we couldn't find the page you're looking for

Where in settings should I look?

(Or maybe I don’t have this option because I live in the EU and we have the DMA?)

@rob @catbailey huh, it opened right up for me — I think y'all probably don't get it since you actually have privacy legislation. 😅

@cory @catbailey That might indeed be the case:

“If you’re in a country where LinkedIn has started using your data for AI training, it’s easy to stop it. Go to the data privacy section in settings and switch the “Use my data for training content creation AI models” toggle to off.”

I don’t have that option in the privacy section.

LinkedIn doesn’t get explicit consent for training AI, requiring users to opt out.

@catbailey

Likely means they’ve already sold everything posted to date.

@catbailey So, does this mean that, if you have a LinkedIn account and wrote continually about how great you are, their AI software would start telling everyone how great you are? Just curious.
@catbailey
As this was auto opt-in, does that mean #LinkedIn has already downloaded all of my past data, messages etc up to today, when I clicked to opt-out?
Have they already stolen all my data for their silly AI?
