you know, considering the state of most social medias for artists, I'm grateful for Mastodon

there's no algorithm to worry about, you don't need to avoid typing specific words (such as "commissions") to not get your posts hidden, boosting things actually helps, and most importantly, here it actually feels like my art is seen, even if it's something out of what I usually do

I don't know what I was expecting when I joined a year ago, but I wasn't expecting this kind of support

Thank you.

@anubiarts I love that the system here shows me all your posts!

@anubiarts

if mastodon/fedi wins, all art could thrive based on what people find valuable and word of mouth. not be forced to compete based on its value to media owners and advertisers. until the #SocialWeb dominates, the game is rigged. this is also true for facts and ideas. that's why I fight for it.

@anubiarts we’re glad you’re here
@anubiarts yes i see your art, it's a regular brightening my feed
@anubiarts I'm not an artist myself but from the other side of the arrangement everything you said is why I love Mastodon too. I can actually see everything people I follow post and am not subject to the whims of an algorithm.

@anubiarts
And making you feel welcome is a community effort, with actual investment, because the community runs the platform and we all want more artists.

And even if you have a problem with where you're at, you can always move to a server that will give you a better environment.

...but that's hardly ever even a problem because most server staffs consider artists, anyone making new and interesting content really, to be the greatest asset the community has, because #TheContentMustFlow.

So keep on posting! Let's all grow the #Fediverse together!

@Nuki @anubiarts There is even fashion related instances now. That's something I wasn't seeing coming.
@lwflouisa @anubiarts
Makes sense to me. I'm on an instance called "Yiff.Life", so...
@anubiarts This is why I love it here as well. I was really down about my art before where i fealt everything I did online was posted into a void. Since the pandemic, I found myself longing for the type of online community building we used to have on forums but realised that this didn't work on other social media where algorithms decide what you see. Over here, I get actual interactions with other artists and people interested in my work.
@anubiarts It also feels so much less toxic q.q ofc, stupid people can be everywhere but still, this here feels so good in comparison x3
