air purifiers are probably more effective at preventing covid infections than the vaccines are now. shame society refuses to put them in schools, offices, and public buildings 🙄

in fact most places that had them are like "wow what are we gonna do with all these air purifiers now that covid is over"

idk man, aside from the fact covid isn't over, have we defeated all airborne viruses? no? then maybe keep using the fucking air purifiers you fuckwits

i mean i'm not advocating against the vaccines, to be fair. you should get the covid shots. but for the love of god can we layer something else, *anything* else on top of that? please?
@eniko I just assume at this point that normies somehow *enjoy* having a cold. I can't relate, I think being sick is a pain in the ass.

@eniko I think we need to sell it with something else. Because good indoor air quality, filtering, and airflow are generally good things.

If we would have a law around central air having to have good filtering it feels like crap like the rhino virus wouldn’t have spread as much. Plus less allergies.

Maybe allergies is it. Get people’s minds on something else.

(I’m starting to see how difficult it much be to be a politician. Trying to figure out a way to get people to do something when they are being unbelievably stupid and stubborn. No wonder so many psychopaths end up being politicians.)

@eniko
Defence in depth only makes sense.
@eniko ughh yes, it’s absurd how much we all had to collectively learn about air movement and filtration just to be like… nahhh
@eniko I was at the thrift store the other day and there were almost a dozen air purifiers there. 🤦‍♂️
@eniko Here in the US it's more likely it goes like, "Aren't air purifiers for COVID? You aren't going to get ME with that woke con!"

@eniko

It's not as if we stopped purifying water when cholera mostly disappeared.

Except on many Indigenous reserves.

@eniko Even if you're a Covid truther, you should be able to agree that rir without ragweed is nicer to breathe than air with ragweed.

@eniko

No. Categorically so.

Vaccines still best defense.

Air purifiers do not "brief" your immune system about intruding infecting agents. Unless you are living within a perfectly sealed bubble, it's nearly impossible to be insulated from contact

It's dumb to both play a "this OR that" and even dumber to issue opinions unburdened by any factual evidence of specific expertise.

Take your vaccines, don't enforce OR spread anything corroborating anti-vaxxing tendencies.

Always remember to consider your sources... "Influencers" have near-zero expertise o issue opinions about anything scientific.

@eniko Ughhhhhhhhhhh. Sorry to see so many people jumping on the "so you HATE WAFFLES?? shame on you for anti-waffle sentiment" train here.

I wish there were an easily quantifiable Re score (presumably always negative) for each of the swiss cheese layers.

@eniko we did put them in schools, we just let them turned off for years and then scrap them because they „didnt work“
@eniko omg. "What are we going to do with them now?" Have fewer colds, maybe.
@eniko "But the electricity needed to run the air purifiers would be better spent on AI brainfarts!"
