@nixCraft I'd be curious to know if there's precedent for this. Certainly the actions laid out in the accusation are scummy, but I have no idea how they would fit the descriptions of wire fraud or money laundering.

@digirights Yes certainly, but EULAs are civil contracts, often filmsy ones, and not criminally enforceable. This being a federal indictment I'd like to know how their legal argument works, to have a better understanding of the strength of the case.

@nixCraft hopefully this is the beginning of the end for freemium content models that screw over artists. This kind of advertiser revenue abuse will surely become rife now everyone knows how to do it? 😎
And advertising clients will start demanding the streaming platforms prove they are reaching real people. Not bots!
