I'm doing some research on a DM-less or DM simulated RPG. Any ideas? #rpg #ttrpg
@ajbz I have had a lot of playing This Game Takes Place in Your Home Town. I never thought I'd be into a game that uses a standard card deck and jenga tower, but those tools work well IMO for that game.

@ajbz There's literally a couple of decades of games for you to dig into, which are GM-less and have a vast multitude of different ways of approaching that, even before we get to the question of only multiplayer or solo/co-op, which have become extremely popular over the last several years.

The right place to start these days is probably with #Ironsworn, which you can get your hands on for free. And if it tickles your pickle, you can pick up Ironsworn: Delve, which goes into some more detail on how to dynamically generate exploration environments, including dungeons.

But, there are a ton of GM-less options out there.

@ajbz What are your research goals? There are lots of types of #GMless #ttrpg. Some are oracle based, like Ironsworn. You can also use a #GMEmulator like Mythic to play the rpg of your choice without needing a GM. Another type is card-based prompts, such as For the Queen and its descendants. Plus there are journaling games like Thousand Year Vampire. So many different types!
@jendefer tons of good ones here! Thousand Year Old Vampire is pretty great. I'll have to check out For the Queen
