Trying another test image with toot!

Hoping to replicate a problem

@jerry

Now you're saying toot! (toot bang, I've called it…)

Is that the old iPhone app that's the only Mastodon app I've ever used?

Has it ever been updated?

[hits 'post' and goes off to App Store]

@FinchHaven yeah, @hal_pomeranz is using it and has been having some problems posting
@jerry Unless you’re enjoying the troubleshooting challenge I would tell you not to waste the brain power on my issue, since a) nobody else is reporting, and b) I’m using an apparently unsupported client

@hal_pomeranz any chance you can try posting it direct through the web interface at https://infosec.exchange?

I am still concerned something is going wrong even if the client isn’t supported.

@jerry Web posting workedβ€”tagged you in it. Posting to main infosec.exchange via Toot! still not working.
@hal_pomeranz seems like maybe it is the app, then πŸ˜•
@jerry Yes, strange. I can continue to use crank when I need to.
@hal_pomeranz @jerry I’m using Toot! and having no issues. I think?
@ckure @jerry Are you able to make a posting with a picture from your photo library?
@hal_pomeranz @ckure @jerry I do that with Toot! for Mastodon all the time on iOS. Here’s an example.
@hal_pomeranz @ckure @jerry You do, however, have to give Toot! at least limited access to your photo library in Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Photos
@thomasareed @ckure @jerry As late as one week ago it was working fine. Today I went to post a cat picture and no dice. Photo library access is not the problem since I can use Toot! to post pictures to crank.infosec.exchange.
@hal_pomeranz @thomasareed @ckure where are you geographically? I am trying to reproduce the issue and will try VPNing to some place close to you to see if it happens to me too
@jerry @thomasareed @ckure I’m in central Florida near Orlando using Spectrum as my Internet provider
@hal_pomeranz @jerry @thomasareed I’m near Charlotte, NC, using a local telco as ISP.
@ckure @jerry @thomasareed Aaaand now I can post pictures to infosec.exchange again from Toot! Did you change anything in the last few hours @jerry?

Ok, I made some tweaks to Fastly. I think there may be some packet loss/routing issues between some of the fastly POPs and the Infosec.exchange infrastructure, so I am routing everything internal to Fastly and only exiting at a Fastly node near our infrastructure
