Back in the 80s, we had the Talking Moose, and it was fun. Today, we have basically the same thing with LLMs - the only difference being a different way of getting canned phrases to say - and it is less fun.

We had this little bear (about the size of a large dog) grazing on clover outside our house yesterday afternoon. How cute can you get? #photography #bears
Why can't I remember this decision forever? 🤨

Remember 100 years ago when radiation was new and exciting and poorly understood, and companies were putting radiation into everything?

Thankfully we learned our lesson and will never make that mistake again.

I’m in DC visiting one of my kids, and I really do not like this city! (Sorry, @tbridge!) I’ve really become averse to crowds and traffic in recent years.

We had a stay in an AirBnB that we left after only one night (and wouldn’t have stayed that night if not for it being late after a long travel day). It smelled, it was dirty and in poor repair, and had obviously had some significant water damage. Yet it had all good reviews and a good rating.

Anybody know if there’s a particularly effective way of reporting this to AirBnB?

I live in a place with complicated shipping. My street address doesn't get postal mail, so I have a PO box for that. This has taught me some things I never knew.

1 - Lots of places don't take PO boxes, and also won't take the special address format the post office recommends when shipping methods are uncertain. This leaves me in shipping limbo a lot, and packages go missing.

2 - UPS will ship to our house or to our PO box. However, they may send some things via USPS instead, with no way to predict when it will happen, meaning items addressed to our house go into limbo.

3 - FedEx will apparently not deliver (or not reliably deliver) to a PO box, so if we give the PO box and they ship FedEx, the package goes into limbo.

"Limbo" here means, invariably, that our crappy post office sends things back to the sender. This was never a problem when we had a private post office, but it's been an official post office for a year, and since then it has sucked.

I made this a few years ago, to compare the size of the entire screen on an original 128k Mac with the size of the Safari icon on modern macOS. Enjoy!
I saw this distinguished gentleman yesterday, sitting in a little alcove in a sheer cliff. I have no idea how he got there! #photography
