About half the questions yesterday at Bedminster were exclusively campaigning questions. Two were framed like, "this supporter wants you to fix your campaign." The other questions were largely useless. Then there was the "Why did god save your life" question.

With the massive reach of social media in this day and age.... maybe it's time to rethink "the press" as the "fourth estate" since they can't do their jobs and candidates can reach the people directly. 🤔
If the media could do their fucking jobs, they'd be the primary protectors of information against the rise of gen AI deep fakes and the like. But they're just not up to the task.

And yes, having all the major political and social discourse stuck in private corporate platforms is still a problem. I wish gov agencies would run their own fediverse instances, but governments are famously behind in terms of technology.
