@peterbrown The SECC is still the SECC, but the Scottish Events Campus (SEC) covers the SECC, the Hydro and the Armadillo. My suspicions has always been that the SEC was chosen as the name for the expanded area because all they needed to do was peel one of the Cs off the existing road signs rather than put up new ones! 🙂
Chrysalis@thisismyglasgow @peterbrown They say St Enoch’s Hotel was used as part of the land reclamation. I rembember seeing a forest if cranes there, and later the docks deserted. And then from the daily commute by train you could see from above the lorries dumping rubble from countless demolitions gradually forming the SECC site.
