Looking into #EV chargers (#EVSE) for home use, outdoors, in New England (occasional sub 0F temps, and rare 100+ days.)

Looking at the Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48a, and the Chargepoint Home Flex. Hardwired.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

@ChrisFerguson I had originally purchased a ChargePoint Home Flex but decided to use the Rivian EVSE because I had the early pricing. The CP and Wallbox units come highly recommended by folks in the Rivian community where I am active.

Also heard a strong recommendation for OpenEVSE which I had also considered. If I were doing it again I’d probably go for OpenEVSE and bring in all the stats into my Home Assistant platform.

@bplein
I love the Home Assistant platform! I'd already have chosen the OpenEVSE, except that my utility company is offering a 700 rebate to choose from their list, and since OpenEVSE isn't UL certified, it can't make the cut (talked to the OpenEVSE people directly about that/getting on the list). WB and Home Flex both have decent support though (Wallbox has official support though!)
@ChrisFerguson If you haven't already, I recommend checking out the State of Charge Youtube channel. The host does extremely comprehensive EVSE testing and reviews including freeze tests, drop tests, and water ingress tests.
@slab_bulkhead
I have watched most of his reviews and he's helped me narrow it this far! Haha Thanks though!
@ChrisFerguson chargepoint for sure. Been extremely happy with mine.
@ChrisFerguson I've had good experience with my simple 32A ClipperCreek unit. 14-50 plugin model
@aatheus
I've heard good things about clipper creek! Unfortunately, I believe they don't have wifi, right? My utility company requires wifi in order to get a substantial rebate, otherwise, I'd strongly consider it!
@ChrisFerguson I think that is the case, unfortunately
@ChrisFerguson I have a ChargePoint flex in the Midwest mounted outside and survives the sub zero temps really well! I got it after seeing state of charge’s freeze tests and how the cable kept its flexibility even when in extreme cold.

@Chubb0rz
I have no doubt the Chargepoint Home Flex is great at winter weather! It's the biggest thing I like about it over the Wallbox!

In truth, what's I really want to know is if the Wallbox does acceptably well in cold weather outside with the cable... Because if prefer the advanced features the Wallbox has (home assistant has a lot more stuff to work with, and there is a way to lock down the charger so it can't be used by anyone who drives up while I'm not home haha)
