Dear Swifties:

The radical theocratic terrorists that targeted the Taylor Swift concert are functionally the same people that want to destroy Israel.

The ideology is the same. The willingness to kill civilians is the same. The goal is the same.

When you support Hamas, you’re supporting the same people that wanted to assassinate Taylor Swift and her fans.

@briannawu … do a lot of Swifties support Hamas??
@reverius42 @briannawu I think she means “condemn genocide in Palestine”, which is equivalent to “support Hamas” in her somewhat twisted world view.
@Colman @reverius42 it’s not a genocide, it’s just war.
@briannawu @reverius42 it’s genocide. One for which they’ve been laying groundwork for a long time. Fundamentalist ethnic/religious nationalists are all the same.
@Colman nope. Actually some of the lowest civilian death ratios for any urban conflict in history. And this is for a war they didn’t start.
@briannawu @Colman Do you hear yourself? "civilian death ratios”, what the hell happened to you?
@mingo @Colman What happened to me was finding out a lot of people on my side are terrorist supporting antisemites.
I'm curious, @briannawu. Would you consider calling people who believe Israel is committing genocide in Gaza "terrorist supporting antisemites" to be insulting?
Do you think what you're doing in this thread is "Seek[ing] to understand the other viewpoints and resolve differences constructively"?

Let me also say this: my father is a rabbi. I wear a kippah. My family belongs to an Orthodox synagogue. I have five kids, all of whom went to Jewish day schools for at least 9 years, 3 of them for 13 years.
My wife, my kids and I all believe Israel is committing genocide.
Does that make us "terrorist supporting antisemites"?
Are you interested in "seeking to understand" our viewpoint?

@jik @briannawu @mingo @Colman Here’s Chomsky with a bit of context on the topic. Hint: there’s a decades-long intentional propaganda effort behind this “confusion”.

@andreimoment One of the major regrets in my life is the fact that it took me as long as it did to realize that Chomsky was pretty much right about everything.

@jik I think it’s one of the signs of maturity. Can’t regret it takes time for your own understanding to evolve sufficiently in order to start seeing the perspectives he offers as valid.

For me it took a lot of years. Plus, he intentionally uses monotone as to not color his statements - and that droning voice does not help with attention retention.

@jik His politics are OK.

His linguistics is ass.

@jik @briannawu @mingo @Colman

Very moving. Highly righteous. Thank you from a Jewish atheist.

@jik @[email protected] @mingo @Colman Ms Wu seems to be an evil person. I highly suggest blocking.

@jik

Thank you Jonathan, it makes you human.

@briannawu @mingo @Colman

@jik @mingo @Colman That, and you *really* don't want folks this piss-poor at understanding factual reality to be anywhere close to political power. Fortunately that PAC seems to be a two-person operation and easily ignored.
