Justice Neil Gorsuch warned President Biden to "be careful" with Supreme Court reforms.

But Gorsuch sold property to the CEO of a law firm that regularly argues cases before the Court.

He never disclosed the buyer and he didn't recuse himself from cases.

@rbreich - Over in Wales the government may make it a crime for politicians to lie. I believe Gorsuch lied in his confirmation hearings about Roe. Perhaps he shouldn’t be incarcerated but it’s absurd to argue there are no consequences.

@rbreich Sounds like a veiled threat to me. Gorsuch, like Alito and Uncle Clarence, doesn't want to operate under any restrictions or ethical scrutiny. In his mind, the SCOTUS is above any oversight. This makes instituting a formal system for investigating and exposing unethical behavior even more necessary.

@horen I agree. I don't like lifetime appointments. I think a a single 20 or 30 year term makes more sense. More important though is a system that provides for ethics oversight. I proposed expanding the court to 13 justices, and having an oversight board comprised of the chief justice of each of the 13 district courts, with judgements for removal depending on 9 yes votes as opposed to a simple majority of 7.
