A shift is happening:
•Biden has cancelled his meeting with Netanyahu
•Harris will skip Netanyahu's speech to Congress
•Harris will meet with Netanyahu to tell him to stop bombing Palestinian civilians
•Seven major unions just sent a joint letter to Biden calling on him to "immediately halt all military aid to Israel" ahead of Netanyahu’s DC visit:
SEIU, NEA, UAW, UE, APWU, AFA, & IUPAT

Don't let up. Keep the pressure on until US stops funding genocide & starts rebuilding Palestine. Let's go.

@QasimRashid
I WAS TERRIFIED we were going to see a replay of #1968:

o #Convention in #Chicago.
o Brokered Convention with no nominee.
o "Foreign #War" #protesters causing a riot.
o Result: a criminal who believes he's #AboveTheLaw becomes #Potus.

All that seems to be highly unlikely now. Whew!

@QasimRashid @MugsysRapSheet protesters may have been the ones rioting but police and war mongers also caused the riots while simultaneously creating much more violence by refusing to de-escalate and the stop war at the time

riots aren’t in a vacuum it wasn’t just the protesters it was people in power responsible for the riots too. And, people in power burden more of the responsibility, than protesters

@Mad @QasimRashid
Just the mere disruption by anti-#Vietnam War protesters at the '68 #Convention was enough to doom the #Democrat's chances of victory.
@QasimRashid @MugsysRapSheet mere disruption is mere disruption and it’s a human right to be disruptive but to use authoritarian methods to quell dissent instead of humane action ruins your image and the democrats decide to ruin their image that night. They surely weren’t helping themselves that night and they shoulder most of the blame for it

@Mad @QasimRashid
Disruptive #Protesters vs #Riot police being brought in to break up those protests... either way, the look is bad.

Best to make sure there's no reason to protest in the first place.

@MugsysRapSheet @Mad @QasimRashid

This is a bit different though, mostly because the DNC is a target for bad actors and paid disruptors. That is one reason I myself advise against protesting at the DNC, because it's somewhat likely there will be paid agitators there, as it is an easy target.
I don't know if paid agitation was as big of a thing in 1968, but it sure is now (i.e. the "window buster" at the George Floyd protests)

See this article. https://www.justsecurity.org/70497/far-right-infiltrators-and-agitators-in-george-floyd-protests-indicators-of-white-supremacists/

Regardless, be careful.

Widely broadcast real-time video images challenge our beliefs about who is really protesting and for what reason.

@MugsysRapSheet @manvsxerox @QasimRashid well I’m not against protesting even if there’s paid agitation.
But I’m against the authoritarian repression we saw that night in any scenario even against paid agitators there’s better ways to handle human beings

@Mad @MugsysRapSheet @QasimRashid
I agree, not here to stop you, everyone has a right to protest, just making you aware so people there can protect themselves. While I still advise against it, at the end of the day it's your right. Just be careful and make sure the organizers are aware as well.

Plan out where to protest and make sure they are set up in a way where it is hard for agitators to cause problems. If you do so, it'll work out best.

@Mad @MugsysRapSheet @QasimRashid

Also as a reply to myself, I only advise against it at the DNC, anywhere else is totally fine.

It's just the DNC that will have a lot of eyes on it, meaning there will be a good chance of agitation.
