I've read two of these. Delighted that The Fifth Season, by N. K. Jemisin made the cut. Also, I have read Caste, and The Warmth Of Other Suns is queued up in my Kindle.

Have you read any of the list? What do you think of it?

@farbel I've read a lot of them. I just want to comment on "The Savage Detectives," which has a great beginning and an interesting ending but these sandwich this 100-page (?) list of biographies of real? imagined? Mexican poets that just goes on and on and on and on, and I have to admit I began by skimming them and eventually just cut to the end

I'd love to read the list but it would require giving $ to that nasty "news" organization.
@EllenInEdmonton @farbel I get it. Every time I go to unsubscribe there's some article I want to read about jellyfish or something... I guess it's one of those cases of "I don't know how to quit you."
@petnoodle @farbel
Heehee! They still have that academic side that appeals and they're the best in books and food. But still...
@EllenInEdmonton @farbel Yeah, the bad part is REALLY bad. Ugh
@petnoodle @EllenInEdmonton What are your preferred news sources?

@farbel @petnoodle
I've become very News Lite as the 21st century continues. Most of the traditional news media is heavily influenced by their advertisers. I have several indie Canadian news sources including #Taproot (#YEG), @thetyee, and #CanadasNationalObserver.

A lot of the current events that hit the news appear here, including the bloody ear incident. That filtered version is enough for me but if something really piques my interest, I search for more info.
