@Tutanota
This is actually the hardest step (and not using youtube).
Because with tuta and proton, unless I pay for an account, I can't use my account with thunderbird or other mail clients, and have to check my emails separately and manually everyday, so using tuta or proton as my main email for important stuff isn't a great option.
The pricing on your plans isn't irrational, but for me, a university student living in a 3rd world country, isn't possible right now.
And even if I could afford it, I couldn't buy it, because it doesn't accept cryptocurrency as payment method.
I have been buying my mullvad vpn account with crypto for years now.
And I'm not asking for charity, you guys have to make money at last :)
Just some insight from another perspective.
Unless something has changed over the last months, Tuta doesn't support any third-party e-mail client at all. And their mails are barely stored as mails (an export to .eml is regenerating the mail, which breaks DKIM signatures by the sender), not to mention they use a proprietary encryption scheme which only works between Tuta users.
I generally consider Tuta to be more like an instant messenger which integrates with SMTP for unencrypted content.
