Watching the #Goose webcast, and I’m pretty sure the Redbird ripcord was the biggest (worst?) ripcord I’ve heard from these guys. Probably gives the greatest Phish ripcords ever a run for their money.
@chopaganda an all time ripcord. Cotter was cookin…they were ready for liftoff. They had plenty of time to take it for 10 min so long as they audibled the encore to something short.
@Evdude @chopaganda these short second sets leave so little time for agility. Given time considerations, close with a 15 min Arc and then encore Clouds. Why was Red Bird even played? Then again that Tumble. Maybe the tradeoff was worth it #goose
@Backeasyjim @Evdude @chopaganda The obvious solution is to not play Whales, Silver Rising, and Atlas Dogs to open the show. Boom! 25 extra minutes for the second set.
@Nolasox @Evdude @chopaganda yeah. These 3-4 openers every show are getting a bit annoying and predictable. 8 song sets don’t usually work out well for Goose. Still glad we got that Tumble.
@Backeasyjim @Nolasox @chopaganda I personally don’t mind a more songy S1, but an 85 minute S1 that barely leaves an hour for S2 isn’t cool. No reason to play Whales, Atlas Dogs and Silver Rising when they knew they had 2 jamless sit-in tunes to play as well. That Tumble made up for it all, so I’m not complaining but it’s going to take years of therapy to get over the Red Bird ripcord.

@Evdude @Backeasyjim @Nolasox The solution isn’t to not play songs or re-arrange sets. An 85min first set isn’t that long, especially with a 25 min setbreak.

If there is a hard curfew of 11pm, pay to move the ticket time up to 7pm or make sure you’re onstage by 7:45 with a 7:30 ticket time. The end.

@chopaganda @Backeasyjim @Nolasox that’s fair. I didn’t even think of the ticket time thing. I was thinking the whole time that Mann shows usually start at 7, but just assumed they moved to the curfew to 11:30. It’s very clear they need a 4-hr window to your point. They need to make that shift asap. They’re charging nearly a $100. Time to step it up.
