To refresh: 2016 Lockn was when Shapiro and Co went all in.
Phish x2, MMJ, Tedeschi Trucks, JRAD x2, Ween x2, Phil and Friends, Gary Clark, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Brandi Carlile, Galactic, Hard Working Americans, Circles Around The Sun, Vulfpeck, Khruangbin, Charles Bradley (RIP), Umphrey's
Phish headlined Friday & Sunday, so were presumably there all weekend....Trey did not sit in with a single band.
You think pre-Gonzo Rick was like "I'm going to do the exact opposite of what Trey did at Lockn 2016" and that's why he sat in with every single band?
Last night: was lucky enough to be first in line for Julian Lage’s late set at the Vanguard. Was as transcendent and mind-blowing as always.
I think this was the first time I’ve ever seen him with Joey Baron in the trio. He proved to be the master of dynamics all night, going from hand drumming to hard-hitting.
Also, Jorge Roeder was in some of his finest form ever. Some of his playing re-wired my brain.
