When I bought it for I think it was 70€ back then, no ads where shown, then suddenly with a software update they added ads 🙄 Maybe you can try to change the dns provider to dns.adguard-dns.com or another adblock-server. Or if it doesn't work set it system wide via the router. At least this worked for me on the Google TV. I don't see ads there anymore.

Evil Roda@ThePlant I don't even use my XBone for YouTube anymore. If I wanna watch something, I just have my laptop hooked to the TV. Then I can use uBlock to block ads on Firefox (tested and working on Paramount+, Disney+, and Hulu)! The console is basically a Game Pass machine at this point.

Brian Moakley@ThePlant I found Xbox to be shameless with all their ads and marketing notifications. I gave my Series X to my bud who then gave it to his son, who now just plays Steam games.
I retreated to the PC, but I found Windows 11 and GamePass just as obnoxious, so I took the jump and installed Pop_OS last night.
Initial impressions are positive.
