Dabbling in #cordage
Commonly used cordyline (ti leaf) and trying out some false cardamom leaves. False cardamom is in the ginger family. I have lots of different kinds of ginger, so if this dries nicely and is strong enough for crafts or even gentle use, it will be great! #crafting #plants #fiber #feral #today #primitiveskills #weaving

I have a goal to use some of the farm's invasive grasses like guinea grass and red sugarcane to make cordage and coiled baskets. I'm not much of a weaver, other than the wild, freeform stuff, but it is enjoyable, and in the end, a thing!

I make an assumption that the ginger leaf cordage is going to be brittle and "useless" once it dries, bc nobody that I know is out here using it for that. I'm eager to see the results tho!
