War — what is good for?

It’s good for US arms manufacturers, and for financiers of the US military-industrial complex. They love war! 🇺🇸

@breadandcircuses I kinda want to print that and spam it on every school, peace monument, graveyard, hospitals, and churches.

We should ask ourselves--
Do any members of Congress or the Senate have investments in "defense" stocks? (The answer is yes)
They shape "National Security" policy.
Simple minded me views this as a conflict of interest.
@breadandcircuses And where it goes (not counting the illegal trade)

@breadandcircuses The lesson of the 60s was supposed to be that we question the mission, but over the years it became "support our troops" amid stories of how soldiers were mistreated after returning from Vietnam. The two perspectives aren't mutually exclusive, but one certainly seems to have replaced the other. That's not an accident. It's a masterful job of redirecting the narrative.
@hwebb @breadandcircuses on top of that, there has been a sick amount of media since the 60s serving as subliminal recruitment for the US army: Marvel comics (all of them), Call of Duty, GI Joe (the least subliminal one) …
@breadandcircuses imagine how great humanity could be if we exported health and education instead.
