Outrage over a bit of #cornstarch on #Stonehenge (which has already washed away by the rain), but the outrage is completely misdirected.

Just Stop Oil’s protest appears to have highlighted a collective fear of losing revered heritage, yet the conversation about it has overlooked the main instigator.

Actual, real damage is not done by cornstarch, but by #oil and other #fossil fuel. It's about time people would realize that, and direct their anger at the real danger, instead of trying to shoot the messenger.

Just stop oil already!

@hans '#Stonehenge defacing' united people around the world for sure. We need to understand that such drastic actions are a response to failed responsibility of #bigoil in protecting our #envrionment against #climatechange.

Also be thankful to people hating on it, news wouldn't be making waves otherwise.

@Neel The uproar is definitely necessary, but people must look a tad bit further than just the defacement, and ask themselves why it is done.

"They're only doing it to get attention" is the right direction, but needs one extra step. Once people realize how huge and real the problem is for which they want attention, things could finally change.

And that's what we need, quickly and urgently...
