Louisiana's GOP governor signed a law requiring public school classrooms to display the Ten Commandments.

Project 2025, developed by MAGA allies, has plans to infuse ‘Christian nationalism’ in a Trump second term.

Republicans are coming for the separation of church and state.

@rbreich Nauseating cowardice of the governor of Louisiana in his caving to the religionists. Free us from them and their perverted sense of entitlement.
@rbreich How many commandments has Trump broken? By Louisiana (which used to be La Nouvelle France until Napoleon I sold it on the cheap) new law Trump should not be eligible for POTUS. I actually am in awe of the hypocrisy because it's just nonsense to anyone with an IQ above 10.
@rbreich Guess it's time to put up Islam's Sharia then, too, right? The Jewish Torah?
@rbreich The NCAWP (National Christian American Workers Party)???, Pun 100% intended on the NZ NSDAP (National socialist deutsche arbeiter partei).
@rbreich Are these the same people who identify tRump as the new Jesus? Good luck with that.

@rbreich

Would make more sense if he'd sign a law requiring Christian nationalists to obey them instead.

@Professor_Stevens @rbreich

True, considering that American "Christians" violate all ten of them on the regular. Starting with the first one, since they worship money as their one true deity, rather than the God of Abraham.

@rbreich
that is government establishing a mandatory religion.

Only 4 of them could arguably be considered simply ethical guidelines:

Don't:
- Lie
- Steal
- Kill
And
- Honor your parents

All of the rest are various demands to believe in, obey, and worship a specific mythical being. Christians, Muslims, and Jews all respect those, or purport to. Over 40% of the world's population do not.

@rbreich what separation? Presidential candidates are always asked about their faith and it seems to be a huge deal to most Americans if they don't believe.
Americans like the sound of 'separation between church and state' but they balk at having a non believing president.
@rbreich Maybe seeing them every day and realising that ‘don’t murder people’ didn’t even make it into the top half will teach people that the Bible is not a great source of ethics (with the exception of a couple of good bits in the second half).
@rbreich Thomas Jefferson must be rolling in his grave.
@rbreich A lot of GOP politicians seem to have trouble with #s 8,9, and 10.
If this is implemented nation wide, where will the new Republican leaders come from?
@rbreich State sponsored Inquisitions are vogue for the MAGA America Firsters #Project2025 #CopCity
THERE ARE SEVEN FUNDAMENTAL TENETS

Instead of commandments, The Satanic Temple has The Seven Tenets and are based on compassion for people, the fight for justice, inviolability of the body, respect for the freedoms of others. Read here →

TST
@rbreich The christian Americans also called The American Taliban. How can christians vote for a man who has violated all Ten Commndmens?
