Last night's #AMCScreenUnseen was #ThelmaMovie, which I really enjoyed. I'd heard nothing about it going in, and it's a lot of fun to see a movie that way, with zero pre-conceptions. (I'm not a fan of the movie poster - that wouldn't have interested me in the film, so I chose a picture from the film that I thought better represented some of what I liked most. There's another still from the movie that I really like, but it gives away a story point that is more fun when you see it in the film.) /1

Without giving too much away so maybe you can have the same experience, it's a story about a grandmother who decides to take control of a situation that resulted from her actions. It's funny, poignant, quirky and touches on some issues about growing old.

Terrific cast with #JuneSquibb in the titular role. I've enjoyed watching her for years in a side character role so it's nice to see her be the star. /2

Supporting cast is terrific, with #FredHechinger , #ParkerPosey , #ClarkGregg , #MalcolmMcDowell , and #RichardRoundtree in his final performance. I expect a few nominations come #SpiritAwards time.

After the main end credits, there's an additional scene, and after all the end credits, there's a nice acknowledgement.

Definitely recommend if you get a chance to see this. #ThelmaMovie /3 end
