Thelma is a 93-year-old mother and grandmother. She is also a bad ass. She has been ripped off by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson and the scammer claims that he needs $10,000 to pay the lawyer because he, the fake grandson, is in jail. It’s a common call that seniors get in these recent years – my mother got one and thankfully she did not fall for it – but, unfortunately, Thelma falls for it and now she’s pissed. This is one of my favorite movies of recent years for three reasons. First off, it stars the
Supporting cast is terrific, with #FredHechinger , #ParkerPosey , #ClarkGregg , #MalcolmMcDowell , and #RichardRoundtree in his final performance. I expect a few nominations come #SpiritAwards time.
After the main end credits, there's an additional scene, and after all the end credits, there's a nice acknowledgement.
