omg a Cybertruck just drove by.. it has almost a promotional-vehicle energy, like a wienermobile for douchebags
@hannah I've never seen one IRL, but on photos it looks amazingly absurd, like someone with rudimentary photoshop skills did their first montage or something...
@wurzelmann this was the first one i've seen, trust me that it looks dumber in person
@hannah I can hardly imagine it, but thanks for this assessment. 💜
@wurzelmann @hannah first blender model
@Ember @hannah haha, exactly. No curves, because that's too complex.
@wurzelmann @hannah
It's hard for photographs to convey the sheer obscene bulk of the #IncelDorado. It combines the incompetent scribbling of a third grader who can't draw with the pathetic need of guys worried about their manhood to make up for it with ludicrously oversized possessions.
@hannah my first question is, as shoddy as they are, do insurance companies even cover them? And my second question is, with people so openly displaying their douche-ness, does anyone ever just...... 👀 asking for a friend
@secretsloth @hannah hypothetically, they'd have no way of knowing if someone, accidentally spilled some salt water on it as it would only show up later ;)
@secretsloth @hannah Its illegal to drive an uninsured car in most of the US so I assume insurance companies must be covering them. I bet the insurance is super expensive, both because the car is crap, because it will literally drive itself into a swamp, and because the douchebags buying them drive like douchebags.
@bunny_jane @hannah faaaaair point, wonder what the insurance rates are :o and I wonder if they keep climbing skywards as new information comes out
@hannah I've seen a few of them IRL. Ugly, impractical, and expensive. Their only feature seems to be as a mobile church to the Musk fan owners 🤮.
@hannah The only one I’ve seen had a pink wrap shilling for something or other, so very promo-y.
@boxspring @hannah there's one in my town with a pink wrap advertising a mobile home park, so I'm pretty sure the owners are slumlords
@nasamuffin @hannah Part of me wishes I could remember what the ad was for and part of me is glad that the ad failed.
@hannah we passed one walking around VT the day before the eclipse and it instantly felt like we'd stepped into a badly CGed Marvel movie
@hannah It definitely gives small wiener mobile energy.

@hannah I've only been home a couple days, but I've yet to see one...

...in the SF Bay Area.

Yeah. Nobody wants Cybertrucks.

@hannah

it does sort of resemble a self propelled dumpster

@hannah gonna be rotating "wienermobile for douchebags" in my mind all day now
@hannah
The cybertruck is 100% a promotional vehicle. It's just a different kind of wienermobile. It's advertising that the man driving it thinks his wiener is too small.
