Money is like shit. If we spread it around, it functions as fertilizer, enabling incredible ideas to sprout and grow. If instead we just pile it up into mountains, it stinks and all the great stuff that could sprout and flourish is starved of nutrients.
Universal basic income is the good shit.

If it’s carrying oxygen, building blocks, growth factors, etc between systems then society can be like the human body - specialized groups can be spectacularly good at specific functions, versus each individual having to take care of everything that keeps us alive and thriving (I.e. “rugged individualist” one-celled organisms).
If money/blood is all pooled up in a specialized society’s cancerous pinky toe, that society will quickly die.
@scottsantens I agree with the premise, but UBI is throwing fertilizer everywhere, including weeds, which will outgrow everything.
I am for a more targeted approach, otherwise the lazy bums will do nothing productive. I know because I am one of the lazy ones, and I know many more.
