I was behind on seed sowing starts again this past Winter!
I don't transplant any nightshade plants out into beds/pots until at least 2-3 flowers appear on starters. That helps the transplants to do much better - they're stronger if you wait a bit longer to transplant out.

@msquebanh Those tomatoes look really happy.
@colinpurrington They're doing really well so far. I sowed in really great homemade compost soil & put cinnamon at bases to prevent pests from attacking them while they're still plant babies.
@msquebanh I have never heard of using cinnamon. Interesting. And yes, I think people underestimate how hungry seedlings can be and how much they benefit from really, really good starter soil.
