The thing is, they're not. Even those self proclaimed bear experts who say this eventually get mauled to death by them. Bears are wild animals, they're inherently a dangerous predator. A random guy could be a predator, but even then he'd be less dangerous than a bear. The chance that he IS a predator however, are much lower. People who chose the bear are simply delusional and just help rage baiters with the social divide.
This was never meant to be taken that literally. All it ever was supposed to be was a metaphor for violence perpetuated against women by showcasing how those numbers far exceed the numbers for injuries inflicted by a known danger to humans. Anyone seriously discussing the real-world dangers of bear encounters vs men has already entirely lost the plot from the very start.
The ones who entirely lost the plot are those who are supporting this completely moronic claim, as they're an accomplice to how our societies become more and more divided, which is exactly the whole point of this rage bait & spread through meme formats like this.

This one specifically? No idea. But I've seen several variations of this by now, including fresh accounts on that other site that post some absolutely ridiculous Tinder convos, and then begging for the bear in the title. This whole thing is spreading so much that I highly doubt it is entirely organic. And if it is organic, then honestly, that'd probably be even worse because of how much it would say about us as a society who believes in so much bullshit. Given that we literally know that foreign operations target specifically shit like this in social media we should already be extra aware, but even without that, we should simply start to be more decent. Something you fail to do if you spread & support those type of disinformation and toxic stereotypes & downright accusations.

This is a fine stance to have, but since this trend started on tiktok I think it might be important to keep perspective of whether or this was meant as a molotov cocktail throw into the public square to ignite the wars of the sexes, as seems to heavily be the implication across this thread, or just perhaps if it instead was a just a video made by a young woman wrestling with the anxieties of reconciling the very real violence against women statistics she sees and trying to reclaim some power through that anxiety by doing what she thinks is awareness-raising.
Can this womanās thinking be flawed? Absolutely. Potentially harmful even, as you expressed? Sure! But just as you ask of us to be more decent, I donāt think itās an enormous ask to try and evaluate the reasoning behind why somebody would make the kind of video that would start this trend in the first place.
People are imperfect, and often terrible at messaging. I donāt think that means thereās zero merit to her intent here and I think zeroing in on the pedantic nature of the argument and being offended rather than simply saying āher conclusion is flawed by I see the point she was trying to makeā feels to me like it isnāt the one participating in this trend who are perpetuating the cycle here.
