5 positive RATs, vs 1 -ve PCR.

I assume I have covid.

Unfortunately the PCR result will be the only result on my medical record.

And today I return to work and one of my maskless coworkers tells me he was also off sick with covid last week, and laughing about giving it to me whilst denying it was him because "I can't prove shit" - as if anyone in my workplace would give a fuck even if I proved it beyond reasonable doubt by some magic or other.

Just a coincidence that he brought it to the office I'm forced to work from and he had several conversations about his wife's "flu" with me.

If only my employer was forced to provide clean air by some kind of workplace safety laws.

If only.

@nikink

They've created an unsafe toxic work environment akin to (but worse than) sexual hostility. File a complaint with the NLRB or OSHA.

@nikink the first time I got Covid was from a specific guy at work. He was leaning over me while I was sitting down, and he spits a little while he talks, always saying excuse me. He was helping me with some software we use, and when I turned to look at him he got me in the eye.

It was early in the pandemic, before their were tests available. But I got a runny nose that wouldn't stop a few hours latter. I announced it to the room, took my laptop home, and the runny nose continued for 3 days.

@nikink I was able to work from home for 2 weeks after, but I was badly sick the first few days. I slept face down with my head off the side of the bed, nose dripping into a bucket, for several nights, trying and successfully keeping the infection out of my lungs.

That guy had a girl friend who was a nurse, home sick with "a very bad flue" in the days before he infected me.

My work place, a contract manufacturer, used a few "essential" product lines to stay open entirely through the pandemic.

@nikink the last time I got Covid, which gave me pneumonia and kept me coughing for 4 months, with chest pain for 9, (I quit to stay home and die or get better) I know exactly who gave it to me that time too.

The guy who worked behind me kept coughing, wet deep coughs, and I literally took him to another room to voice my concern. He insisted it was because of a new mask he was given (with the valve to make breathing out easier). It was Fri., and I got badly sick, positive test following Monday.

@Urban_Hermit At afternoon tea break today everyone there was simply laughing at me for getting it and saying how it was "nothing" or "almost enjoyable" when they got covid because they got a week off work.

They were also sharing stories about how every subsequent infection from other viruses etc were worse than ever. Apparently unable to connect the dots, even after I mentioned that due to prior experience with chemo I knew what it was like to have a fucked immune system. That was also a big laugh.

Fuck the lot of them.

Oh and of course being told I might as well remove my mask cuz it obviously "doesn't stop covid". Sigh.

@nikink just thinking about it, I would honestly be tempted to remove the mask at that point since they really don't care and won't until it is them dying. I wouldn't of course, because they have family and friends who are not consenting to rolling those dice.

Small towns across America have been depopulated. A whole generation retired from work a decade early to avoid dying from it.

So now we know. If there are severe consequences that only effect 2% of people, basically no one cares.

@Urban_Hermit Yes. Jokes on me for still caring about other people, really. :(

@nikink wishing you a speedy recovery and missing out on LC!
You aware of #thenicotinetest ?
Some people have seen benefits using it during an acute infection.
