Hall Of Shame: The 10 Most Dubious People Ever To Make Our 30 Under 30 List

Many Under 30 alumni have gone on to become tech titans, CEOs, and even billionaires. A few have turned out to be duds, or far worse. Below, from SBF to Martin Shkreli: the Under 30 picks we wish we could take back.

Forbes
@taylorlorenz @Forbes
Do you think they learned anything?
@taylorlorenz @Forbes
they could probably do hundreds, and are only doing this because others have already made memes of how garbage their selections have been.
@JoBlakely @taylorlorenz @Forbes Oh, yes, They're trying to downplay the issue by setting it up as just 10 out of 100 000 candidates they've gotten wrong, leaving out that a lot more that the 10 they've picked for this list are far from the total number of duds and far from the 100 000 were good candidates to start with.
@taylorlorenz shame both the people and the editors that picked them.
@taylorlorenz @Forbes I, for one, salute those future criminals in this year's cohort on their head start to the arc of their catastrophic rise and fall.
@taylorlorenz @Forbes Oh I wish this wasn’t in a paywall! Thanks for posting the list here, Taylor.
@taylorlorenz @Forbes Wow, Elizabeth Holmes is not even on the list.
@leftsidestory @taylorlorenz @Forbes investor fraud is par for the course here, you gotta do come up with something gnarlier to get into that new exclusive list
@leftsidestory @taylorlorenz @Forbes
Thank you, that was her name... I knew the face, totally blanking on the name... Yes, how did she not make the list?
@prettyhuman @leftsidestory In the article they're very front and center about that she wasn't a 30 under 30 pick (without mentioning they let her headline their 30 under 30 summit), so they're teeeechnically in the clear.
@Mabande @prettyhuman They have been under heavy criticism recently about quite a few 30 under 30 ending up being scams. So I guess that is how it goes.
@taylorlorenz The only real question the new list brings up is... did Musk ever make it on their 30 under 30 list so he can get on the Dubious list now? @Forbes
@taylorlorenz @Forbes surprised elizabeth holmes isn’t on the list.

@petersibley No Elizabeth Holmes, but they include, among others, a lady who was reportedly unpleasant to work with and who "published social media posts highly critical of the media industry".

Just brilliant.

@taylorlorenz @Forbes dubious? So Charles Manson was anti-social.
@taylorlorenz @Forbes Maybe these lists have jumped the shark and Forbes would be better off admitting that extreme levels of wealth and/or business cunning are nothing more than very strong indicators of sociopathy.
@phil_stevens @taylorlorenz @Forbes that could backfire and send the message that one should become more sociopathic to get ahead
@tinfoilhat @taylorlorenz @Forbes Some might start regarding them as lists of targets.
@taylorlorenz @Forbes I appreciate the self reflection

@taylorlorenz
> "Many Under 30 alumni have gone on to become tech titans, CEOs, and even billionaires. A few have turned out to be duds, or far worse."

hmmm.

@taylorlorenz @Forbes The choice must have been dififcult. So many candidacies
@taylorlorenz @Forbes
So segregating the failed sociopaths from the successful ones?
@taylorlorenz @Forbes I love how "dubious" is now a euphemism for "raging criminal."
@taylorlorenz @Forbes
The only way to do this honestly would be to publish two lists that are exactly the same people.
@taylorlorenz @Forbes Elizabeth Holmes gets a decade in prison for fraud and doesn’t even crack the top 10, what a world
