We have had a lot of cool, wet, rainy days here in #Minnesota the past couple of weeks. While that has sucked for mountain biking, it was very good for morel mushroom growing.

@doachs So jealous! I found one tiny one in a bit of grass I know gets sprayed by the city parks department, so didn't even attempt to eat it.
Keep looking, but so far no others yet.
Attached: 2 images And another springtime surprise! A tiny morel mushroom! It was in mowed grass between a paved path and brushy edge of a pond along our usual neighborhood dog walking route. NOT where you'd expect to find a fungal delicacy! Wouldn't have even seen it in the grass if I hadn't been closely looking at the ground to avoid stepping in dog detritus left by less responsible owners. Couldn't believe it was an actual morel at first. Given where it was growing, and not being 100% certain of what we had, we didn't eat it. But we will keep a closer eye on the woodland floor when hiking in the coming days!
