Hey, there are *two* #MicroPython capable dev boards in the #oshwa24 swag bag!

- Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect

- Soldered InkPlate 2 (ESP32 / colour e-paper screen)

I am having *some difficulty* getting #MicroPython running on the #Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect (I can flash the image, but no REPL appears), but the InkPlate works like a champ: first time I've ever got an e-paper display to work with MicroPython

@scruss InkPlate 2? Hmmmmm...

(Discovered ESPhome and everything looks like an appliance!)

@vik I don't stray far from MicroPython these days
@scruss Just out of interest, would it be hard to port the Quirkey Accessibility Keyboard code from #CircuitPython to #MicroPython? https://github.com/VikOlliver/Quirkey

@vik wait until MicroPython 1.23. It will have high-level USB device support on rp2 and samd. Right now, the low-level support in 1.22 would be ugly to port.

Not sure I have the bandwidth for this, tho.

@scruss Fair enough. Just curious, not trying to dump a project on you honest.
@vik I know you weren't. I can take a quick look when 1.23 is released, though, as I do want to have a working USB project to try out
@scruss swag bag looked good this year. almost as good as in the olden days (2010,11,12,...)
@scruss how much was the particle gift card for?

@ukscone haven't checked. I like Particle's stuff, just their fancy cell-connected boards would be (actually are, I know from experience) prohibitively expensive to run in Canada. Not their fault.

Also, I don't think their boards run MicroPython, so ...

@scruss yeah don't think micropython was even a thing last time i used a particle board
@ukscone the card is $20, btw
@scruss enough for one of the wifi boards
@ukscone ... or shipping to Canada
@scruss jealous you're able to be involved with #oshwa24 - it was on my list of things I wanted to do this year, but there are just too many and I had to make some choices!
@andypiper it was pretty local to me, true. It was fun and the venues were great.
