@gary_alderson , and corms for snack!

@Dr_Elizabeth97 I had no idea corms were so nutritious

There's little, if any, financial incentive for doctors to keep patients from getting sick in the first place. So why would they invest time in helping patients develop healthier diets? “Nutrition is not really reimbursable,” McWhorter says

@Dr_Elizabeth97 Doctors have historically received almost no nutritional training, which limits their ability to effectively talk to patients about it. During four years of medical school, most students spend fewer than 20 hours on nutrition. That's completely disproportionate to its health benefits for patients. Nutrition is an underserved community - pardon the pun #fd i am a med pro and as in the dark as basically everybody else
@gary_alderson , I was kidding about corms. Please don't eat corms!
@Dr_Elizabeth97 A diet that includes tubers, rhizomes, corms, bulbs, and flower buds might seem primitive, but examples of these plant structures are found in common foods like potatoes, ginger, water chestnuts, onions, broccoli, and carrots.
@gary_alderson , if you've done the research on corms, I trust you. I just didn't want you to think that I know anything about them other than planting them in my garden.
@Dr_Elizabeth97 I do not mean to be strident or gauche here - really appreciate the corm education #nom nom corm fest #nutrition leeks
