@daveunderwood Being a conscientious young man with an intellectual bent focused on apologetics is what kept me in the fold for decades longer than I should have been.

I applied critical thinking to everything except my own beliefs, and I was fully confident in the truth of the Bible for many years. Anything I couldn't reconcile with my faith was set aside for later consideration.

Eventually that list grew too long for me to ignore. I just wish it had only taken two weeks.

@analogfusion @daveunderwood I’ve been in nearly that same boat recently. For the past few months I’ve been quietly grappling with the fact that I find believing in Christianity’s core tenants something I can no longer do. My family, wife, most friends are all Christian. Some deeply so. I feel like rocking this boat could end up sinking the life I’ve built and love.

@daveunderwood thanks. It’s nice to find some like-minded folks. I had considered a therapist but we should be moving this summer so I’m holding out until after the move.
