Really wish Philips Hue made a smart power strip where each plug could be turned on and off individually.
@simonbs can I offer you a regular power strip and six individual Hue smart plugs?
@stuart No way. Too bulky and ugly.
@simonbs Meross makes one that supports HomeKit with 3 individual plugs.
@Adrianthomas I can only find one from meross with four plugs and four USB ports. I would have liked one without USB ports but I think I'll end up ordering the meross one. Seems to be the one best suited for my use case.
@simonbs Yeah I think that’s the one I have. The USB ports have been useful occasionally when charging random gadgets.
@simonbs Eve has a 3 outlets strip but it's WiFi, pretty expensive and I'm not sure if it was updated to Matter. https://www.evehome.com/eve-energy-strip

@caseyneiba Yeah, I don't think anyone makes a Matter compatible power strip yet. I can live without that. Especially if going for something cheaper than Eve's.
@simonbs I'm still looking for a 6 independent outlets, Thread (no WiFi), HomeKit/Matter power strip from a reputable brand; but it seems no one wants to create that.
@caseyneiba Have any non-reputable brand created this?
@simonbs Well:
- Meross (brand I don't like, thus I don't think it's reputable) has a 4 outlets WiFi HomeKit at a fair price.
- TP-Link 6 outlets, 3USB, WiFi, no HK (GHome/Alexa), half price of Eve.
- Philips 6 outlets, WiFi, no HK (GH/A), good price.
- Jinvoo (non reputable) 4 outlets, 2 USB, Zigbee, works with Hue, no HK (GH/A, maybe HK via Hue), half price of Eve.
@caseyneiba @simonbs Meross product usually works ABSOLUTELY fine. If you take the version that has Official HomeKit support means that you can block their internet access and they will still work (And I absolutely recommend to block internet, they are really chatty).
@simonbs @caseyneiba It only works with HomeKit. It's a great product... but I'm biased 😀
@timac @caseyneiba Haha 😄 I was about to pull the trigger on another power strip, but I actually think I'll go for the Eve, as it seems to be the only one that monitors electric usage. It's also a feature for me that it doesn't have USB ports, which all other power strips seem to waste space on.
@simonbs Ubiquiti offers something like that. https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/products/usp-strip-us not sure about European varieties?

@simonbs I have had Kasa and Koogeek power strips that have this feature
@simonbs have you seen Eve Energy Strip? It has three outlets and you can turn them on/off individually. It‘s not the cheapest smart device but it‘s working just fine in the HomeKit universe with all the other Philips Hue stuff.
