Best thing about the #AudioPorn project is getting to work with other writers - @JMSeaborn is an incredible storyteller and he kindly agreed to an interview for Patreon, sharing a tonne of insight into writing #erotica: consent, approach, ideas + more https://www.patreon.com/posts/consent-and-in-100919546

Massive thanks to JM for getting stuck in so well to answering your questions, and huge thanks to all of you who contributed them! @WrittenInKink

Written In Kink

Also, here's a fun fact! Quite a lot of the work that @JMSeaborn and I discuss in this interview ('while I'm asleep', maybe 'the wishlist', definitely 'anaesthetic sex') could not be published on Patreon today.

Their updated guidelines outline consent in the most basic, wrongheaded ways. Some of which openly contradict the others. Lol.

I think their definition of consent initially ('freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous') is absolutely covered off in all of those stories. But I think that because JM and I discuss them as CNC pieces (because that's the kink they're hitting, at least for one of the participants/characters) they'd fall foul of the new rules. Once again, such joy to work in a genre where platforms have no knowledge but desperately need to have an *opinion* 😐
@girlonthenet @JMSeaborn These sort of rules are infuriating. They just push conversations about these topics into shadier areas of the internet where they're more able to be warped into unhealthy or manipulative messaging by bad actors without critique. These platforms say they care, but every action they take speaks to the opposite. They want *sterile*, and that arrow only ever points in one direction.
@kapellosaur @girlonthenet @JMSeaborn (it always points to "super bugs", because sterile never really happens)
@girlonthenet @JMSeaborn @WrittenInKink I actually got into bed and listened to this with my eyes closed; it was wonderful ❤️ I could listen to JM speak about writing, and particularly TV and film writing, allll day. And I'm so happy he has this platform to showcase what an incredible and considerate person and writer he is, so thank you GOTN 🙏
@robyneatseverything @JMSeaborn @WrittenInKink couldn't agree more! It's very fun to listen to him nerd out! <3
@girlonthenet @JMSeaborn @WrittenInKink This was great - I'm really excited for future chats with other writers!
@girlonthenet @JMSeaborn @WrittenInKink yay, i am going to listen after Fancy Dinner tonight!
@melofthevalley oooh enjoy your Fancy Dinner! <3
