@mrsg_cyber I think they stole/borrowed/reused that one. However have a look at:

So impressed by GenZ! This sounds like something my own kids would've said or heard/seen.
“Commander Vimes didn't like the phrase 'The innocent have nothing to fear', believing the innocent had everything to fear, mostly from the guilty but in the longer term even more from those who say things like 'The innocent have nothing to fear'.”
Terry Pratchett, Snuff (a Discworld novel)
@alexch @itisiboller @ShaulaEvans One of my favorite quotes from Terry Pratchett, other than Vimes' boots theory of economics.
This reminds me also of this gem from discworld novel The Truth (2000):
"He knew about concerned citizens. Wherever they were, they all spoke the same private language, where 'traditional values' meant 'hang someone'."
@alexch @itisiboller @ShaulaEvans it is truly remarkable how many amazing quotes DiscWorld has.
I am re-reading them all and I swear I have never made so many highlights in one book other that LotR.
We deserve privacy, not just inservice to other goals, because it's a benefit of being a member of a civilization: https://medium.com/i-m-h-o/privacy-primer-c7b9caadfc67
@itisiboller ...unless you are a domestic violence survivor. Then, depending on circumstances, and further escalations that may be involved in trying to escape - especially if the family of the perpetrator has power, reach, and influence, and tries to maintain legal, psychological, financial, and physical control over their family member's victim(s) over decades - then...yes, yes, we do have everything to hide, and everything to fear.
And we are criminalized, suspected, and discriminated against, for acting like we do.
It shouldn't be like that.....
@itisiboller
that is a very nice comeback, to an otherwise annoying discussion
puts it right back in the hands of the other person, and hopefully they will consider it some more.
