Right outside the warranty period my beloved mouse started needing you to click *really* hard for it to function ;_;
Comfy mouse though, will probably rebuy

@christianselig This seems like a common issue with the switches used in Logitech stuff, and has been for a long time.
Around a decade ago when I was using a Logitech Marble Mouse trackball as my main mouse, one or both of the buttons would consistently develop similar issues with time. I think I went through at least three of those things. Haven't had problems since switching to other manufacturers.
Get a cheap set of steel feeler gauges ($5 at Harbor Freight) and slide a thin one into the gaps and around the buttons, to clear out any obstructions.
Gently, don't use gorilla strength; and don't stick them too far in. Also, unplug / battery out / power off / whatever.
@christianselig @estebanborai Oh! What a surprise, I would expect at least 2 years lifespan 🤔.
Logitech is not a very high quality brand but I would think products from them are good enough to last longer
@kf @christianselig wait what
Are artisan trackballs a thing now?
@christianselig The thumb style are all bad IMO for that reason — my thumbs would be dead b/w that and my phone. I love those like Adept or Kensington Slimblade, though I use them with my wrist more rotated outward, so it’s not as flat as you may imagine. I think folks looking for something more ergonomic lean towards the Classic, oftentimes with a 3D printed wedge for more tilt.
Also, I use a button to toggle scrolling, which is much nicer than any wheel.
@kf @christianselig I've used Logitech thumb-trackballs for years. It's true it sure wears your thumb muscle out at first, but after 20 years I don't notice at all, but I can tell the difference between my left & right thumb muscles not just by feel but visually! (don't know if there's any left-handed such things)
It's not quite precise enough for photo-retouching, but you can zip the pointer all around the screen amazingly fast.
