If you have a dependency on curl, and you are also stuck using an old 32 bit windows, then at some point in the future, a situation could arise where your old curl can not fetch.
But, potentially, you could boot #linux and use an updated curl to pull the data.
What may happen down the road is that a lot of kiosks may stop working. There are literally many millions of kiosks running on 32 bit windows XP or CE.
The kiosks are going to fail at some point anyway, but that is some business' problem. But it is easier for an individual. Just stop using Windows.
A user that wants to get off of Windows should do so now while it is possible before their curl stops working.
