"They contacted me and asked if I wanted to audition for a side project. It became pretty apparent that it was for #Goose" - Cotter

guess that confirms the rumors about auditioning drummers while Ben was still in the band

Burlington drummer asked to join the band Goose

If you have seen live music in the Queen City over the last decade, there’s a good chance you have heard Cotter Ellis keep a beat.

@clifff I hope they have good lawyers
@LostReflector @clifff why? Is that illegal or something?
@chris @clifff they are 100% getting sued about all of this
@LostReflector @chris @clifff particularly the part where it’s a real tell that they were trying to hide it “..for a side project”. Bruh, keep it on the DL
@Phreba @LostReflector @clifff jambands committing fraud. Sad!
@chris @LostReflector @clifff the maga of hambands.

@Phreba @chris @LostReflector @clifff Love this conversation, but you guys are acting like it's some kind of company that subject to the rule of law. It's a band. Just look at the Byrds for goodness sake. They had a lineup like a rotating door, kicking people out, getting new people in at whim and for no reason. Backstabbing infighting, the whole nine yards.

Is there some kind of 'jamband kangaroo court' that's going to legislate all these hurt feelings? I don't think so.

@aburtch @Phreba @chris @clifff some bands have written contracts and agreements
@LostReflector @aburtch @Phreba @chris @clifff The lawyers are done, everything’s been negotiated by now, and Ben signed a NDA. That’s the most likely scenario. The band is a for-profit legal entity, whether formally incorporated or not. there’s a ton of IP and copyright rights that had to be sorted, Ben owned a piece, and they paid him for it.
@Rosey @aburtch @Phreba @chris @clifff aww why you gotta go and get Real Lawyerly on us? but seriously I am almost certain there is a lawsuit coming, however frivolous it may end up being
