How do you keep track of what pen has what ink? #FountainPens #FountainPenInks

@penfount I only have five pens. On the other hand, my memory isn't what it was, so it's a good thing three of them are demonstrators. The other two I occasionally need to unscrew and peer at, or try on a random bit of paper.
It probably helps that I don't often have two inks the same colour (although I did once get confused when I had both Diamine Monaco Red and a sample of Diamine Oxblood).
@penfount Until I make some tough decisions and thin the herd a lot, I keep a list.
For the moment most of these are for directly comparing nibs and inks in various inexpensive pens.
@penfount I use a spreadsheet and add a line whenever I ink a new pen. I change the line to red when an ink runs out.
I usually have around 10 or so inked at the same time. Sometimes the number goes up because of inks/pens Iโm fixing or testing.
I don't keep track of that. I only have 3 pens inked up at a time.
@penfount Easy. I match the pen to the ink. (picture taken before putting the green ink in the green pen). I only have one ink of each color, for the most part, so I won't mix up, say, two different pinks.
The two blues are the same ink, then red, black, highlighter yellow, pink, and jade green.
@penfount I use an ink journal for that. Pen, nib, ink, & date.
(Actually, two of them with different papers, but thatโs only because I review inks and itโs nice to see them on multiple papers.)
