#WritersCoffeeClub How much of yourself is in your MC?

Oh hell, probably way too much to be marketable. A few of my protags are #transmasc, some are "horse crazy", and I suspect technically all of them are if not outright autistic coded, then neurodivergent-coded due to me being multiply #neurodivergent.

Which is why I write for me. I write stories I want to read that make me feel good. I sincerely hope that others come along for the hopefully joyous ride.

@KitMuse this is the first I'm hearing of transmasc horse lit and it is immediately the greatest genre I've heard of in some time. You're filling a niche I never think about but now that I have I imagine it's much needed.

Do you or your characters have any hard opinions on horse names?

@GoodLuckClove Awww, thank you! Here's the first book in the series. I'm pivoting from "women's equestrian lit" after my own egg cracked. https://amzn.to/48okmct

I don't think there's any hard opinions on horse names. Quarter Horses get something Whiz or Dun or Spun or something in the name that sounds goofy. (Sorry, QH people...) I do like to search the Jockey Club to make sure my thoroughbred names aren't in use. Got lucky for the horse in the 2nd book in this series.

@KitMuse I'm definitely buying that for my transmasc buddy! I will say that I had to look up the term Quarter Horse because I wanted to see what the other three quarters were haha.

I love people that know things about stuff.
