I suppose it's would be nigh impossible to have an archive or a museum without some examples of historical racism. This is most likely not the first example in the archive.

I'd also think that this is a reverse-boat of Theseus: how many indicators of racism can you remove from a presentation without removing the racism itself? And in the current context this doesn't really come out as a dogwhistle.. does it come out to you as such?

I don't understand how a song with different lyrics and different music be the same song.

@internetarchive
you can literally read mein kampf on the archive, dude, what are you on about

@virtueisdead Is English not a language you understand well?
@internetarchive you should remind people that they can use the torrents for faster downloads and to save the Archive's bandwidth

@voltagex @internetarchive I think the first peer of the torrents is always Archive.org, so for unpopular torrents you might still be using their bandwidth.

But other than that I agree. It's the perfect protocol for sharing.

@loadhigh @voltagex @internetarchive It is. And their trackers are a little buggy. About half the time torrents won't run, but if you stop them, download the files manually, and then restart the torrents they'll run as expected.
@voltagex @internetarchive they'd do well to have a page dedicated to setting up a (trustworthy) torrent client and explain how to become a long-term seeder. :)
@voltagex @internetarchive Do they work properly for large collections now? It used to always be the case that, for large collections, the torrent would often be missing many of the files. I remember seeing many large collections that, in their descriptions, explicitly warned against using the torrent for this reason.
@voltagex @internetarchive ye! torrents not only for bad guys, but can be legal and effective
@internetarchive Too bad the audio has such terrible flutter. That can happen when the film is wound too tightly around the sprockets of the projector.
