#Unicode is weird and kinda "rich hemisphere-centric" when it comes to #emojis ... or everywhere. I could start a Unicode Complainopedia by myself alone, but today I want to focus on my "Emojicomplainipedia". I mean. They are so... arbitrarily restricted, and they don't seem to represent a language or anything that resembles a language that you can create concrete messages with (unlike eg.: Unicode symbols for traffic signals). And the choices and the gaping holes in between... oooh boy. Why are there emojis for Americas, Eurafrica and Oceasia, but not for Antarctica? Why is there Tiger and Lion, but TigerFace and not LionFace? On that, why no Jaguar and PallasCat? Why an emoji SPECIFICALLY for Mount Fuji but Pinatubo, Villarrica or the damn EVEREST don't get theirs? Why MilitaryMedal but not PeacePrize? (US loves guns) Why Sushi (north hemisphere food) but not Cazuela (south hemisphere food)? Why no Yugoslavia flag, but Texas (US) gets its own flag? Why does Unicode even need emoji to begin with?
