Wake up babe, Godwin's Second Law just dropped

This being my first experience of going (moderately) viral, I'm pleasantly surprised that the majority of responses have been not-unpleasant.

Also I learned that you can add Alt-text after-the-fact, which is nice.

Also, check out my SoundCloud - <gestures at a cloud-shaped floating ball of static-noise in the corner of the living room>

@scubbo good to have scientific examination of what we all thought might be trueโ€ฆ

@scubbo

@cisene

Lol, I'm finally the 1% ๐Ÿ˜

@scubbo

ouch. I can't wait for the 3rd law.

Drawing Bayesian inferences after extensive sampling, I've determined that it's 99% certain that anyone who uses "woke" as a pejorative will turn out to be a fuckhead. Please don't blame me for pointing this out - it's just science.
@scubbo it would be cool of you could add @amphianna description as #AltText
๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
@scubbo But why is he still on Xitter?

@StopForTea @scubbo

The screenshot is from 2022. Looking at his Twitter profile, not clear he's still posting there -- I basically just see old stuff, 2022 or earlier.

@scubbo

I have never understood how โ€˜wokeโ€™ is an insult. Donโ€™t we all aspire to being awake, rather than sleepwalking through life?

@scubbo I have another one for you that I have bookmarked a long time ago.
@scubbo I don't know. It seems like 12% of them are asshole politicians. That's not scientific though.
@scubbo "Woke" is shorthand for "Go Back to Sleep".
@scubbo There's one thing I don't understand: why "as pejorative"?
I've basically never seen it used any other way
@monnier @scubbo itโ€™s been around for a bit before that happened: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woke
Woke - Wikipedia

@scubbo I also have "Surveillance is the crack-cockaine of governments" from him from ~10yrs back

@scubbo

I have come to the same conclusion, although a bit less sweary ;)

There are a lot of such... porridgebrains around where I live.

@scubbo itโ€™s true. thatโ€™s the way I use it and Iโ€™m a total fuckhead.
@philo thanks for the advance warning to mute you
@scubbo I don't use the term "woke" as the alt right uses it frequently to frame all democratic and anti-descriminatory policy and discussion as illegitimate. However I do see leftists, especially western middle-class/prof managorial class/bourgeois leftists, place an excessive amount of attention on politics of recognition for groups defined by identitarian categories, while ignoring that intersectionalism/black socialism always had a class analysis in the center that combined all the struggles
@scubbo and the corollary is that this probability jumps to 100% if someone uses "wokeism" in any non-ironical context.
@scubbo Please let this be real... please let this be real... please let this be real ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ˜†

@Aviva_Gary this is the first time that a social media post of mine has gone viral-enough to be (implicitly) accused of being fake. Quite a compliment - thank you! (Not that it's technically my work, but YKWIM)

X (formerly Twitter)

@scubbo I mean you are welcome but that was not my intent lol ๐Ÿ˜†

Instead when you see something like this (that is awesome) it could very well be fake...

simply because internet *shrugs and laughs*

But I'm happy it's real though โœŠ

@Aviva_Gary you got it ๐Ÿ˜ happy holidays!
@scubbo Also "SJW." I am glad that this term seems to be used less now (or maybe I only perceive it this way since I deleted my Twitter account)
@scubbo invoking Bayes here feels like a specific diss to the "rationalist" culture
@scubbo Special case of the "pernicious memes travel in flocks" general law.
